7kg UAPL Practical Drone Course Overview

This drone training in Singapore is designed for learners who need hands-on flight practice for Class A UAPL rotorcraft operations up to 7kg. The programme is suitable for candidates preparing for the relevant UAPL practical assessment or those who want additional practical flight experience before assessment.

Learners will practise UAS pre-flight and post-flight checks, manual flight manoeuvres without GNSS assistance, precision hovering, climbing and descending circuits, figure-of-eight manoeuvres, precision landing, mission planning and emergency procedure handling.

01Do I need to pass the CAAS UAPL Theory Test before joining this drone training?

No. You do not need to pass the CAAS UAPL Theory Test before enrolling in this course.

However, if you plan to obtain your UAPL licence, you will need to pass the CAAS Theory Test as part of the official licensing process.

02Will I receive my UAPL after completing this practical training?

No. Completing this course does not mean you will receive your UAPL immediately.

Upon successful completion, you will receive AKC's E-Certificate if you meet all competency requirements. To obtain your UAPL licence, you must meet the relevant CAAS requirements, including passing the required theory test, completing the practical assessment, and submitting the required UAPL application.

03Do I need to bring my own drone or unmanned aircraft (UA)?

No. A training drone (UA) is provided for all sessions and the practical assessment.

04Can I fly commercially after completing this drone training?

Not immediately. This course prepares you with the required hands-on flight skills, but you must still meet CAAS requirements before flying commercially.

This includes passing the theory test, completing the practical assessment, and successfully applying for your UAPL licence.
