7kg UAPL Practical Drone Course Overview

This practical drone course is designed for candidates who have passed the CAAS UAPL Theory Test or who require additional hands-on practice before attempting the official practical assessment.

Learners will practise UAS pre-flight and post-flight checks, manual flight manoeuvres without GNSS assistance, precision hovering, climbing and descending circuits, figure-of-8 manoeuvres, precision landing, mission planning, and emergency procedure handling.

01Do I need to pass the CAAS UAPL Theory Test before joining this practical drone course?

No. You do not need to pass the CAAS UAPL Theory Test before enrolling in this course.

However, if you plan to obtain your UAPL licence, you will need to pass the CAAS Theory Test as part of the official licensing process.

02Will I receive my UAPL after completing this drone course?

No. Completing this course does not mean you will receive your UAPL immediately.

Upon successful completion, you will receive AKC's E-Certificate if you meet all competency requirements. To obtain your UAPL licence, you must meet the relevant CAAS requirements, including passing the required theory test, completing the practical assessment, and submitting the required UAPL application.

03Do I need to bring my own drone or unmanned aircraft (UA)?

No. A training drone (UA) is provided for all sessions and the practical assessment.

04Can I fly commercially after completing this practical drone course?

Not immediately. This course prepares you with the required hands-on flight skills, but you must still meet CAAS requirements before flying commercially.

This includes passing the theory test, completing the practical assessment, and successfully applying for your UAPL licence.
