01 Is the Employers' Orientation Programme (EOP) compulsory?

Yes. The Employers' Orientation Programme (EOP) is compulsory for first-time employers hiring a Migrant Domestic Worker (MDW) in Singapore. First-time MDW employers must complete the EOP course before submitting an MDW Work Permit application.

02 Does the EOP certificate expire?

No. Once completed, the EOP Course certificate does not expire, unless otherwise stated by Ministry of Manpower (MOM) directives.

03 Is there an exam?

No. There is no exam required for this EOP course. Learners are required to complete the course and fulfil the attendance requirement.

04 Do I need to repeat the EOP course if I hire a new MDW?

No, you generally do not need to repeat the EOP course when hiring a subsequent MDW. However, employers who change more than 3 MDWs within a 12-month period may be classified as Frequent Change Employers and may need to fulfil additional MOM requirements before hiring another MDW.

05 Is the EOP course the same as the Settling-In Programme (SIP) for MDWs?

No. EOP and SIP are different programmes for different learners. The Employers' Orientation Programme (EOP) is for first-time MDW employers, while the Settling-In Programme (SIP) is for first-time MDWs to learn about safety precautions and living in Singapore.
