Course Overview

The Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) course is a 9.5-hour in-person training designed to provide participants with the essential skills to operate access control systems, alarm monitoring, and CCTV equipment. Ideal for security personnel, this course equips learners with practical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of basic security equipment in various settings.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

Knowledge and skills of security personnel to operate access control, alarm monitoring, and closed circuit television (CCTV) monitoring equipment.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

Learners are expected to be 18 years old and above.
Assumed skills and Knowledge: Learners, who signed up for this unit, are assumed to have the following skills and knowledge: Able to read, listen, and speak in English at ESS Level 3; Able to read a computer monitor and see at a distance; Process basic skills in operating a computer; Truthful and Honest; Sense of duty and responsibility on the Job; Disciplined and able to follow instructions when given. Dress code: Shirt (long or short sleeve), Pant (No jeans), Black shoes.
Physical and Medical requirements: Participants should not have color blindness and hearing impairment and must be physically fit to work as Security Officers. A Medical certificate, issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner, on the above physical and medical requirements, must be submitted along with the course registration form.

Learning Units:

Learn how to operate access control equipment.
Be confident in operating alarm monitoring equipment.
Operate CCTV equipment competently.

Medium of Instruction: English. Only participants with 100% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination.
Course Duration: 9.5 Hours. Day 1: 9 AM to 6 PM; Day 2: 9 AM to 10:30 AM
Assessment will be conducted by POLWEL. Assessment format: Role play – 60 mins, Oral Questioning – 30 mins.
