Vertical Surface Maintenance (Level 1)

Course Overview

The course aims to train new cleaners / existing cleaners in applying basic vertical and ceiling surface maintenance in the environmental services industry.

Prerequisites:

Learner’s profile:
Applicants should preferably
Be above 18 years of age
Able to speak, listen, and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 1.

Learning Units:

Prepare for cleaning activities
Remove loose dust, debris, spillage, and soilage from vertical surfaces and ceiling
Reinstate work area

Target Audience:
Understand the knowledge and skills required in participating in basic vertical surface maintenance activities in environmental services industry.
Course Duration: 15 Hours (including 1 hour assessment)
Assessment Format & Duration: Practical Performance –35 mins, Oral Questioning: 25 mins for each participant. 100% Attendance is required. Passing criteria: Practical and Oral assessment – 100%
