Basic Traffic Controller Course

Course Overview

Basic Traffic Controller Course is to increase awareness and familiarise the participants with traffic control at the work zones.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

Familiarity with traffic control in work zones

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

Recommended for the trainee to achieve WSQ ESS Workplace Literacy & Numeracy level 2.

Learning Units:

The competency units are listed as follows:

Understand each step in providing traffic signs based on the speed of the roads
Know how to use standard traffic control devices recognized by motorists throughout the island and follow the code of practice.
Safeguarding the motorist, pedestrians, co-workers, and yourself.

Additional Details:

Maximum class size: 25 participants. Course Duration: 4 hours, including 1 hour Assessment.
Assessment Duration: Written Assessment – 30 mins; Practical Assessment (Group Role Play) – 30 mins.
Passing Criteria – Should achieve 65% & above (combined)

Attendance Requirement: 100% Attendance is required to sit for the assessment.
Medium of Instruction: English
