Workplace Safety and Health Practices Implementation Level 1 assessment only pathway (aOP)

Course Overview

Demonstrate knowledge and abilities to follow corporate WSH policies and guidelines in order to avoid accidents, and minimize risk in the environment services business.

This is demonstrated by the following Enabling Objectives at the workplace

  1. Applying safe work practices and risk control
  2. Identifying potential hazards and unsafe work practices
  3. Performing workplace emergency responses

Course Outcomes

At the end of the AOP, participants certified Competent will be able to,

  • Demonstrate knowledge and abilities to
    follow corporate WSH policies and guidelines in order to avoid accidents, and minimize risk in the environment
    services business.
  • Participants will need to meet ALL the Knowledge and Abilities as prescribed in the TSC Reference Document
    under Skills Framework for Environmental Services during AOP in order to be certified Competent

Knowledge Outcomes

  • Importance of WSH
  • Organisational reporting procedures for WSH related matters
  • Common risks and hazards involved in environmental services industry
  • WSH risk control measures

Ability Outcomes

  • Follow WSH practices to prevent accidents or minimise risks
  • Identify the unsafe acts or conditions present in the work environment
  • Report to supervisor unsafe acts or conditions

Prerequisites:

Learner’s profile:

  • 18 years old
  • Secondary or lower education
  • Have attended formal/informal training which is relevant to the Module applied for within the last year, OR
  • Have at least 3 months of relevant work experience within the last 3 years from the date of application for AOP in relation to the Module applied for.
  • Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 2
  • Candidates applying for AOP must be sponsored by his or her employer/cleaning agency
  • In order to be eligible for AOP, participants are required to undergo an Assessment Readiness Self-Evaluation (via a checklist to be administered by the AKC administrator), and must attain obtain a score of 100% for the particular module/TSC that they are going to be assessed in.
