Equipment and Inventory Management (Level 3)

Course Overview

Equipment and Inventory Management (Level 3) is an 8-hour, one-day workshop for the Environmental Services and Hotel & Accommodation sectors. The course, which SkillsFuture Singapore accredits, helps cleaning professionals in facilitating inventory control and equipment maintenance procedures to ensure operations continuity. This course is to train cleaning professionals in essential inventory and equipment management skills to ensure operational readiness, improve service reliability, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and support continuous improvement efforts within the organisation.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand equipment and inventory management fundamentals, including organisational workflows, limits of authority, and the role of effective control systems.
  • Apply organisational policies and procedures related to inventory monitoring, documentation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Evaluate and improve inventory control processes by consulting relevant stakeholders and using reliable sources of information to support decision-making.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities, including resource planning, preparing maintenance schedules, and deploying equipment servicing routines accurately.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, follow organisation service procedures, and respond appropriately to damaged stock or tools.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure equipment safety compliance, including recognising damage types and applying proper safety protocols.
  • Recommend improvements to inventory and equipment management, aligning enhancements with organisational standards and operational needs.

Prerequisites

Learners should be:

  • Min 18 years old
  • Able to read, write and speak in English (WLPN Level 4 and above)

Certifications Granted

(SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the course

Assessment Format & Duration

  • Practical Assessment –30 mins
  • Oral Questioning – 30 mins

Passing Criteria

  • Learners are required to achieve a 100% score for the assessment in order to attain a “Competent” grade.
  • In addition, 100% attendance is mandatory to complete the course

Learners are eligible for SSG training grants only if they pass the course. Those who fail the assessment will not qualify for course funding
