    SIP FOR FOREIGN DOMESTIC WORKER - SIPFD - SETTLING-IN PROGRAMME FOR FOREIGN DOMESTIC WORKERS
About The Course
The Settling-In Programme (SIP) is a 1-day orientation programme for first-time FDWs to educate them on safety precautions and living in Singapore. First-time FDWs should attend this course within 3 days of arrival, excluding Sunday and public holidays. Only after FDW has attended the SIP, she can start work. FDW should be 23 years old & above.

A first-time FDW is one who has never worked in Singapore as an FDW before. This includes an FDW who:
• Doesn’t have an FDW employment record with MOM’s Work Pass Division.
• Has an FDW employment record with MOM but eventually did not work in Singapore.

Topics covered in SIP:
• Introduction to Singapore.
• Employment conditions.
• Safety at home.
• Safety in other areas.
• Relationship and stress management.

The FDWs are required to bring along the following documents to be allowed to attend the SIP class.
1. In-principle approval (IPA) letter (Page 2 of Employee’s copy).
2. Original passport.
3. Embarkation Card (issued by ICA officer at the time of arrival in Singapore)
4. A copy of the FDW’s educational certificate.
Educational requirements: Must have a minimum of 8 years of formal education with a recognised certificate

Course Duration: 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM. Registration starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 9:00 AM.
Late comers are strictly not allowed into the class.

Course Schedules:

Classes in English, Bahasa Indonesia, Burmese & Tagalog languages will be conducted every day from Monday to Saturday.

International classes in English, with AKC interpreters for the native languages, such as, Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Thai, Tamil, Chin, Mizo will be conducted every Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays and Khmer every Saturdays.

The course registrations for the International classes has to be made at least 2 days prior to the course date, as we need to book the Interpreter for the respective native language.

For the languages other than listed above, Employment agencies are required to arrange for the Interpreters at their own expenses. Only Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residencies are allowed to be Interpreters.

Trainer-Trainee ratio (For all languages except Bahasa Indonesia):– 1: 30. For Bahasa Indonesia:– 1: 20.
